Our Story

Bridge Family Ministries started with one family, the Morgan’s, who saw a need and asked God how they could help fill it. In 2017 a family that Brett and Anna Morgan were close to began fostering children. The Morgan’s immediately saw the burnout that can happen and wanted to offer a solution. Originally Brett and Anna wanted to start a group home or foster themselves, however at the time and with six children they were not able due to TN DCS regulations. Instead the Morgan’s , who already had a heart for their community and its children, began offering overnight, weekend and long-term respite for children. Eventually even adopting a little girl themselves.

Inspired by Jesus command in Mark 12:31 to “love your neighbor as yourself”.  So they have embarked on a mission to serve those most vulnerable and in need by creating a ministry surrounding foster children and their foster families. In 2019 Bridge Family Ministries was founded and in 2021 it was officially registered as a non-profit.

As the ministry has grown so has the need for resources and support. And the Morgan’s have seen their prayers answered again and again by local churches, businesses, organizations and individuals who are joining them in the mission to bridge the gap between foster those impacted by foster care and their community.  Today Bridge Family Ministries actively serve over hundreds of families and have even adopted a child of their own out of the foster care system. They hope to continue to expand their reach in order to help more foster children and foster families.

From the beginning the Morgan’s and Bridge Family Ministries has been committed to being what the ever changing world of foster care needs them to be and will continue changing as the demands do.
